Decide...To Love Bible Study

In preparation for this sermon, I looked at all the things people said someone needed to do in order to love reading their Bible. That list included: start small (one or two verses), use a Bible reading plan, pick the right translation, focus on memorization, and create a routine, among others. I have zero problem with any of those suggestions. I think those are all great ideas for someone who wants to start a disciplined Bible study habit. But they don't get to the root of why some of us don't like reading our Bible in the first place. In my opinion, the reason we don't prioritize study is because we're not committed to what that study will create in us, which is transformation. If we don't want to change, we won't want to read the Text that is telling us to change. Commit to the transformation that Bible reading creates, and you'll find yourself falling in love with the Holy Word of God over and over again.
