Finding Hope in Lamentations
Lamentations is a sad book...but it's a sad book on purpose. It's designed to give voice to the grief of Jeremiah, and in turn, give voice to our own grief. If that's the case, then how do we find hope in the midst of all that sadness? Lamentations isn't only about hopelessness - if it were, it'd serve a lesser purpose. Instead, it's about teaching us what kind of hope to hang on to in the midst of a spiritual departure from God. Taken in that view, there's a lot of hope to be found.
