The Beatitudes of Marriage
If you've been a Christian for any period of time, you've most likely heard of the Beatitudes (even if you're not a Christian, you've probably at least heard of them in passing). They're a Biblical "listicle" of sorts; in Matthew 5, Jesus lays out all the ways in which someone is "blessed." Blessed, Jesus says, are the "peacemakers," the "humble," and those that "hunger and thirst for righteousness." But what happens if you apply these same principles to marriage? Even though the primary application is to individual Christians, if two people choose to build their marriage around these principles, it will create one that will almost certainly stand the test of time.
