My Father,
I shouldn’t have the family I do,
but I do because you are with me.
I shouldn’t have the friends I do,
but I do because you are with me.
I shouldn’t have the job that I do,
but I do because you are with me.
I shouldn’t have the life I do,
but I do because you are with me.
Blessed Father, there is nothing I could want that has not been provided for me. The gloriousness of life that is my daily bread has been provided, and I lack nothing, so with these provisions I will be more than content. You know me better than I know myself, and with the understanding heart of a Father, have provided for me in areas I did not even realize. Be with me and guide me, help me to grasp my own mortality and dependence on you. For you are
My Rock,
My Redeemer,
My Shield,
My Provider,
My Shepherd, and
My God.
