Pride is a timeless sin. It has destroyed empires, fractured families, and destroyed relationships, but perhaps its deadliest attack is what it does to our relationship with God. But where does pride come from? In the case of the nation of Edom, it came from their self-assured security in the strength of their empire, but as Obadiah points out, even that couldn’t save them against the judgment of God.

CloseAs Christians, we pray for a lot of things. Forgiveness. Help. Giving Thanks. But one thing we probably don't pray for very much (at least, specifically) is for more wisdom. And yet over and over again in Scripture, we see the admonition to pray for more wisdom. Get wisdom. Seek it. Pursue it. Why do we not pray for wisdom as much as we should? Especially when it has the ability to help us in so many ways?
