Pride is a timeless sin. It has destroyed empires, fractured families, and destroyed relationships, but perhaps its deadliest attack is what it does to our relationship with God. But where does pride come from? In the case of the nation of Edom, it came from their self-assured security in the strength of their empire, but as Obadiah points out, even that couldn’t save them against the judgment of God.

CloseJesus' parable of the wedding feast is very practical, mostly because it goes through the human emotions that we all struggle with: rejection, disappointment, and anger. Spiritually speaking, our rejection of Jesus' invitation to His feast can be eternally fatal. Why we reject it is up to us, but the fact remains that no matter where you come from, there is always room at the table for you.
