Pride is a timeless sin. It has destroyed empires, fractured families, and destroyed relationships, but perhaps its deadliest attack is what it does to our relationship with God. But where does pride come from? In the case of the nation of Edom, it came from their self-assured security in the strength of their empire, but as Obadiah points out, even that couldn’t save them against the judgment of God.

CloseJonah is known by his encounter with the with fish, but despite that part of the story, he's a surprisingly relatable character. Not only is his application of grace similar, but also how he kicks back against any kind of obedience that is uncomfortable.
