We know that Jesus is powerful. After all, He raised the dead, gave sight to the blind, and “rebuked” nature. There’s no doubt that He can do whatever He wants, any time He wants.
But is it possible for Him to calm my soul?
Our lives can be full of anxiety, fear, suspicion, danger, and sadness. We call on God to help us, but do we actually believe He can? Or, more specifically, how can we be know if He has?
For that, we turn to the Psalms of Lament. These psalms make up nearly 1/3 of the book of Psalms, and they are very relatable when we find ourselves in tough times. They also teach us a lot about our own faith and how it practically intersects with the world around us.

CloseEven as a young child, Josiah knew that Judah needed to go through some reforms. Even though it didn't stave off the coming exile, it still gave the people in that day a reminder of who God is. We can use the same model for restoration in our own lives.
