The audience for most of Jesus’ teachings were common people like you and me. The elites — the ones who claimed they knew better than most – brushed Jesus off to the side (when they weren’t harassing Him).
Turns out, this was by design. God’s message was intentionally simple so that everyday people would be able to listen and learn. Those who would rather argue found nothing but silliness — to their own demise.

CloseThe imprecatory psalms are hard to sing because they feel emotional...and angry. In fact, they're a representation of God's hatred of sin, and maybe the reason they make us feel "uncomfortable" is because we don't hate sin the same way. Before we sing them though, remember that we could have sin ourselves. If we're willing to "call down the thunder" on others, make sure you're not going to call it down on yourself, too.
