A message from the series “Pray Like This.” When we ask God to forgive us, it’s not as simple as just saying the words. It requires a desire to be transparent with God and with ourselves to get to the root of the issue, otherwise there’ll never be any true repentance on our part.

CloseIn all my years of church going and church preaching, I have never -- in my life -- heard a sermon about Joseph, the earthly father of Jesus. Why is that? Sure, there's not a lot of info about him, but he's just as important to the story as Mary is (within reason). Moreover, Joseph is called a "righteous man" -- one of only 13 people in the entire Bible to have such a designation. There is obviously something we can learn from his life, otherwise he wouldn't be a part of Scripture. Especially if we want to be righteous as well.
