It’s one of the great ironies in life that when tragedy strikes the hardest, mercy is at its brightest. We may never have known about the firefighters that charged up the twin towers had it not been for the horrific events of 9/11, and it’s possible we may never have known about the extent of God’s mercy and grace without the cross. Wherever there’s a gross inequality, there’s an opportunity for mercy to exist. We just have to look for it.

CloseWhen Peter told the group in Acts 2:40 to "save yourselves from this perverse generation!", he didn't mean to die on the cross for your own sins. He meant to come out of that generation and be separate. Be different. Be holy. Be Christians. Today, a lot of people have a pharisaical mindset in regards to their salvation. They hear what God has to say, then erect additional layers to "safeguard" themselves. The result is more separation indeed, but often not the type they want.
