What is the value of looking back on our life? For Solomon, it was the ability to see the errors that he had made and communicate them to others. When we look back, we not only see where we went wrong, but how blessed we were – and are – also.

CloseBe honest: Does it really feel like Jesus' yoke is "easy" and His burden "light" (Matthew 11:28-30)? Some of the time, it feels quite the opposite. Even if there is plenty of hope and grace, God's plan of salvation is fraught with temptations, and difficulties. It makes it hard for us to really "be excited" about living a life filled with so many challenges. And yet, 1 John 5:3 says that true obedience is when following His commandments are "not burdensome." How are we supposed to do that? How do we get to a point where His commandments are not only "not burdensome," but a delight for us to perform? Answer: Full and total commitment to His Word.
