In a world that constantly struggles over Biblical interpretations, a case is made by many for one or the other.
Instead of a binary interpretation of the Text though, is it possible we can have a little bit of both? A staunch obedience to God’s Word, as well as the wisdom to read it in a modern-day context?

ClosePride is a timeless sin. It has destroyed empires, fractured families, and destroyed relationships, but perhaps its deadliest attack is what it does to our relationship with God. But where does pride come from? In the case of the nation of Edom, it came from their self-assured security in the strength of their empire, but as Obadiah points out, even that couldn't save them against the judgment of God.
