A message from the series “Toolbox for Evangelism.” We all (hopefully) know that anyone can be saved at any point in time. That no one is unreachable, no matter how much they may *feel* like they’re unreachable.
But do we actually believe that, or do we rely on stereotypes to “write people off” as “not a good candidate” for being a Christian. We have to believe — to our core — that anyone can be saved, or else we’ll miss vital opportunities to help save people’s souls.

CloseNearly a third of Jesus' teachings consisted of stories, or parables. These seemingly innocent tales were not just given for entertainment though -- they were designed to penetrate the heart in a way a series of commands couldn't. They forced the listener to meditate on the teachings and make the change from the inside out. As such, they were exceedingly effective. Can we use parables today? Of course! Maybe not in the same way as Jesus, but using illustrations can still be effective if handled properly.
