A message from the series “Toolbox for Evangelism.” Evangelism becomes a lot easier once we realize the need for evangelism in the first place.
But we already see the need, don’t we? God tells us to do it and we do it — simple as that, right?
It should be, but the need for evangelism has its roots in a proper understanding of grace and mercy. Once we realize the gift that’s been given to us, it should be natural for us to extend it to others.
To put it simply, maybe the reason we don’t evangelize as we should is because we fail to see our own need for salvation — and in turn, fail to see the need of others.

CloseEveryone wants to be a leader, but few are willing to make the sacrifices required in order to effectively lead people. Fewer still are willing to place themselves in a completely subservient position and put the interests of others ahead of themselves. But isn't that what Jesus did? As He Himself said: "I came not to be served, but to serve, and to give Myself as a ransom for many." Unless we embody the same mentality, we can never hope to lead those under our charge, no matter who that is.
