A message from the series “Toolbox for Evangelism.” Evangelism becomes a lot easier once we realize the need for evangelism in the first place.
But we already see the need, don’t we? God tells us to do it and we do it — simple as that, right?
It should be, but the need for evangelism has its roots in a proper understanding of grace and mercy. Once we realize the gift that’s been given to us, it should be natural for us to extend it to others.
To put it simply, maybe the reason we don’t evangelize as we should is because we fail to see our own need for salvation — and in turn, fail to see the need of others.

CloseIt's super common for people to say that "the church is going away" or "people aren't interested in the Gospel anymore," but I don't think that statement is 100% accurate. Churches may be closing their doors, but I believe people are still interested in God. Even if that weren't true though, I should still believe it. Why? Because once I start to doubt that people aren't interested in the Gospel anymore, my evangelism will cease. And when that happens, I'll lose heart. Christians have to be optimists. There's simply no other option for us.
