A message from the series “Toolbox for Evangelism.” Nearly a third of Jesus’ teachings consisted of stories, or parables. These seemingly innocent tales were not just given for entertainment though — they were designed to penetrate the heart in a way a series of commands couldn’t. They forced the listener to meditate on the teachings and make the change from the inside out. As such, they were exceedingly effective.
Can we use parables today? Of course! Maybe not in the same way as Jesus, but using illustrations can still be effective if handled properly.

CloseThe Parable of the Dragnet is only two verses long, and yet it has the ability to fundamentally change your understanding -- and approach -- of evangelism? How? By simply reminding us of the value of telling every single person we know about the Gospel, and letting God handle the rest.
