Eight years ago, a week before I was married, I preached on “What I Think I Know Now.” Exactly one year later, I preached about “What I Know Now.” Both of those sermons were designed to show some basic truths about marriage. Now, after several years of marriage, I feel like those points have moved from just theoretical to more applicable.

CloseIf you want to impress God, the last thing you need to do is show up with a bunch of fancy items you *hope* God wants. Huge displays of religiosity and meaningless gestures are worthless if they're not accompanied by actual devotion and humility. The Centurion of Matthew 7 displayed the latter. His understanding of authority, humility, and ultimately compassion demonstrated what was really in his heart. The result was that Jesus "marveled" at the "great faith" that he possessed.
