Matthew 7:6 is one of the hardest verses in the New Testament to both understand and apply in our lives. On the surface, it appears that Jesus is advocating against His own directives in the Great Commission, so what does He mean when He says to “stop throwing our pearls before swine”?

ClosePaul doesn't have much patience for people who just talk a lot. It's distracting from the work, it can create unnecessary divisions, and it ultimately doesn't accomplish much (if at all). But it can also "upset entire families." For that reason, Paul says, "they must be silenced."
