Sarah and Hagar in Three Parts
The story of Sarah and Hagar is one of contention, and Paul draws on this contention in detailing the relationship between the Old and New Covenants in Galatians 4. But the real story is not about simply making a parallel between the two, but drawing a lesson that is meant for all of us to learn from: Don't go back to slavery.
