Tear Down Your Shibboleths
In Judges 12, "shibboleth" was a code word that the Israelites used to determine who was with them and who was their enemy. In 2023, a "shibboleth" can be any man-made litmus test we use to determine who is faithful and who is not. Some of these are necessary (1 John 4:1-6), while others (Matthew 15:1-9) are unBiblical. If we have any of the latter, we need to tear them down -- for the sake of our soul's and others'.
